Hi;

I boughte that model Le Chebec ,about 15 years ago for about $150.I half built it then tried selling it throughe a hobby shop.The hobby sop owner "lost It'.I've regrettedit's loss since.It is a huge model,best for display on a fireplace or the like.It's probably worth a lot more now.If you ever want to sell it,I probably would be interested. Just look at near top... you will see 'Home'... click on it and it will take you to different categories.  Or you can click on this link and it will take you directly to the Ships forum.  Good luck!

Hello all

I have an unbuilt (still in the box) model model of Le Chebec. This is a HUGE model (1/50 scale).

The detail on even some of the smaller parts is astounding!

When built, this model measures just over 1m in length! Wow!

I am wondering whether I should sell this model as I can't see myself ever getting around to putting it together. I have no experience (nor the equipment) in painting with airbrussh - so I can't see myself doing justice to the finished model as an expert modeller would do.

If I do decide to sell (and I presume this is a rare find), what value could I attach to it?

Is it worth more in the box or is it worth more built and painted?

Is there a market out there among modellers who would like to snap this model off my hands?

And if so, how much could I expect to sell it for?

Or, should I hold onto it for another 10 years? - Will it's value increase noticably? I don't have many years left as it is. Perhaps if I pass it down to one of  my children would it be worth holding onto for another 50 years?

Lots of question.... no real idea what to do....

Please help me decide the best route (not necessarily the most profitable - although the money would come in handy as I have not worked for quite a while due to my health)...

Thank you.
