Welcome Sign to the forums, Beans!!! Great to meet another fellow modeler from Illinois aka  "land of corruption". So where you at in Chicago?....north side, south side, Wicker Park? Personally, I'm from the south suburbs.

My story’s not unique; modeled as a kid, life got in the way, 44 now, returned to the hobby two years ago.

Flashback: Through the years I would accompany my wife to arts and craft stores and inevitably she'd get hung up with doilies or something and I’d end up wondering aimlessly through the store to entertain myself. Somehow I’d always gravitate to where the models were. I’d start pawing though all the cellophane wrapped boxes and get the warm ‘n fuzzies recalling the fond childhood memories of model building.

During one of those trips I finally committed and grabbed a Revell 1:48 Corsair and some glue. What the hell…

Now I can't stop.

I’m trying to rebuild all the aircraft I did as a kid – still trying to get my model making legs back.

It’s a perfect time in my life to fall back into this. I got my workbench, getting my tools together, paints, brushes, tweezers, subscription to Fine Scale Modeler, etc…

I’m looking forward to meeting new people here that share the same interest I do.

I’m hoping that one day I’ll be able to contribute some suggestions.
