New here, saying "hello".

Hello.

I'm new to the Forum and decided that it was time to quit lurking and say "hello". I'm returning to the hobby after many years away from it. I did a lot of modeling, mostly World War II naval ships and aircraft, when I was younger and really enjoyed it. I drifted away from the hobby for some reason. Maybe getting my driver's license, discovering girls, etc., had something to do with that! LOL.
Now, at age 54, I'm returning to scale modeling after a catastrophic leg injury last year that has forced me to give up some more active pursuits. I've been amazed at how far the hobby has come and all that is available to modelers now. WOW! I started looking into getting back into modeling about six months ago and have been picking up knowledge and tools since then. Now I'm ready to build.
I've picked up some great information and tips since I joined this Forum and I hope that someday I will have honed my skills to the point that I can make my own useful contributions here. Till then know that I will get some great help here.
I guess picking up were I left off, my interests are still World War II naval ships and aircraft, primarily in the larger scales. The first two builds I have ready to go are both Italieri. Their 1/35th L.C.V.P and the new P.T. 596. Can't wait to get started!
So, hello to all and a big thank you for all the great information I've picked up here so far. What a great resource you all are.

Bob
