Hi Y'all.  I'm new here and living in Florida.  I'm learning to airbrush to improve the quality of my work painting the Games Workshop models used for gaming.  Many of the vehicles I use are tanks as well as individual figures.  I'll be adding some of the new aircraft to my collection.  The information I found in the magazine I purchased has been very very helpful in understanding the basics and paints and things to watchout for.  Thanks for your resources I've already used and for all that I will use.  I'll make sure to keep y'all informed as to my progress and share some of the photos of my work.

Welcome Craig.

I'm also in Florida.  Been here for almost 25 years after growing up in Indiana.

I don't miss the cold warm winters, but down here you have to watch that high humidity when you're airbrushing!

Where in the State?

We are small but dedicated group of sci-fi (among other stuff)) builders in the Tampa Bay area. We are loud. We are crude but we have a good time.

Thanks for the welcome.  I'm in Ocala, FL.  Moved here 7 years ago.

I've been involved with Games Workshop products for over 10 years and have collected hundreds of figures.  I used to travel for business and would travel with a case of models and paints and spend evenings in the hotel painting a few models.  Since there was no source for the models in Ocala, I would also visit a Games Workshop store where ever I could to purchase paints and models.  I have armies from the three big variations of GW games: Warhammer Fantasy ( Dwarves, Bretonians ), Warhammer 40K ( Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Tyranids, Necrons, Sisters Of Battle, Vostroyan Imperial Guard, Dark Eldar ), and Lord of the Rings ( figures from both good and evil forces ).

There is no one near me to actually play the game with so I built a 4'x4' game table with scenary ( river, road, hills, trees, bridge, etc ) to battle myself.  I've also built some buildings ( Sisters Of Battle Temple with a stained glass window, etc ) from scratch as well as some GW buildings ( Cities of Death buildings, etc)  and scenary ( creaters, etc ).

Now I've purchased an airbrush to improve the quality of my work.  If anyone has tips on painting fine details in figure models that are about 1 1/2 inches tall, I would welcome any suggestions.

Pick my mind in Florida

Moviemodeler,

I'll be glad to help or give any advice I can.  I've been focused in my model building to Games Workshop's Citadel models and have an extensive collection.  But I don't use Citadel paints.  I use the craft paints available at Michaels and have started using more Createx paints with my airbrush.

One thing I've found is that the airbrush does not like the clumps of paint that occure in some bottles.  I'm looking for a paint filtering system to remove those clumps.
