Welcome fellow Ontarian. Had to laugh about you blowing up the plane I have a Horsa glider 98% finished that I've felt like wall mounting more than once. You know stand back 10', throw it and see if you can stick it into the wall.

Thank's Everyone for the warm welcome, just coming to the site and reading some great articles have helped me alot already on what and what not to do !!! I'm mostly into tank's and WW2 vechicles but have recently decided to take on a u.s.s lionfish sub - looked interesting and my boy liked it so....... well you know how that goes. " and NO he's not bringing this one to school to show to his friends ".

Hopeing to post pic's when it is finished just waiting for a few more supplies before I start my first attempt at a sub, - for you guys/gals who do those small scale planes - my hat off to you ! I just tried one and got so fraustrated with it me and the boy took a M80 fire cracker to it !! lol'. - Guess I need more patience and skill knowledge before attempting one of those again.

Well once again, thank's for all the great tips and trick's.

Cheers

-Matt

Welcome aboard Matt. The biggest tip I can give you right off the bat - practice with the airbrush! Even if it's just trying to spray patterns on a piece of cardboard, it'll get you used to how the paint behaves with different settings/adjustments for airpressure, trigger pressure, ratio for paint+thinner, etc. I've switched to Tamiya's acrylics for airbrushing & am having pretty good luck with them, easy clean-up too.

Talk to you later,

Vance

  Hey everyone,

I'm new to the site but have been reading the magazine for a couple of years now, can't say I'm HUGE into models but I am finding myself leading up to that path. I've had alot of ups and downs with these things and am leading myself into a more specific path into the making of models.

Most of the models I have completed have been done with spray paint and weathering kits but good news is I just purchased a airbrush and want to get more into detail and itricate work, so with that being said does anyone have any advice for me alongs with the airbrush ? Any good tip's ? I will be using Tamiya acrylic paints and thinner for most if not all the models I do.

Here are a few models I have completed and am looking to notch it up a step or two.

Any advice would be great. Thank's

-Matt - not sure how to add pic's ?
