Randall, welcome to the Forums and welcome back to the hobby.  Like you, I'm a "returnee", 54 year old lawyer from Kentucky.  Did a lot of modeling when I was younger but drifted away from the hobby, probably about the time I discovered cars, girls and other diversions of that type.  Should have stayed with modeling - it was a lot cheaper!  LOL.  Was away from the hobby for 30+ years and got back into it early this year after an injury.  I was blown away by how far things have come.

What are your interests as far as subjects and scale?  Myself, I'm a ship guy (occasional warplane) and build in 1/350 and larger - about all these aged eyes can stand.  Mostly WW 2 USN and IJN ships.  You'll get some great information here and there are some other forums on the net that are specific to various interests as well.

Welcome back and have fun!

Bob

Randall, you do want to give it a try.  Places like this can lift your skills to new heights.  There are so many techniques to improve kits today,  that detail and accuracy are unlimited.  And once you see the quality of the product, you will be amazed.  Manufacturers are producing incredible reproductions with detail unheard of only a few years ago.  Welcome back, you're opening a treasure chest.  Rick.

Hello all, new to this great site, I am a 65 year old retired firefighter, navy veteran and graduate of Pittsburg Institute of Aronautics. Built model cars in my youth and several airplanes in the early 90's. Have been looking at modelling web sights over several weeks and after seeing the true craftmanship being applied to todays models, I thought I might like to give it a try again, we;ll see.
