New to Modelling as an Adult
Posted by IanBeginner on Monday, November 1, 2010 9:09 PM

I built plastic model kits as a child but now in my 50's I have started building kits again. I have started by building two German tanks and a plane (the PanzerKampfwagen I & II in 1/35 scale and the Messerschmitt Bf109G-14 in 1/32 scale. I plan to build Tamiya's PanzerKamfwagen III in 1/35 scale, then I will try another plane (a Junkers Ju87D Stuka in 1/32 by Hasegawa). However, as for the plane, in order to paint the camouflage scheme I need to use masking sheets depicted in the instructions. Are there masking sheets available to use with these patterns?

Welcome to the Forums Welcome Sign.  I'm not aware of any precut masks for the aircraft.  Tamiya tape & a calibrated eyeball is really all you need Smile.

Welcome to the forums. Good choice in your first new builds. As far as the mask you can use tape, as sugesseted below or photocopy the pattern in the instructions and cut them out and use them as mask.

I think Hercmech has already covered the masking option, silly putty at the edges of your mask also works, and can give you a softer line between colour.
