Working on First Iraq Model
Posted by OIF Model Maker on Sunday, January 9, 2011 2:31 AM

Hey all..

I am working on my first Iraq diorama. I am a USMC veteran, and served in Iraq during "The March Up" to Baghdad in 2003 with the 1st Marine Division. My first model is a Snaptite (which I have glued together as well as detailed and weathered). I used a Revell "Main Frame"'70 Mustang Mach 1 in 1:32nd scale, and customed it into an Iraqi taxi that had run the wrong USMC traffic control checkpoint. The diorama I am going to build will be in 1:35th scale, and I was told that 1:32nd is pretty close for "civilian vehicles".

So as I said, this is my first go at model building and a serious attempt at weathering.. I am open to any tips you all may have to give me.. I'm having trouble trying to post pics, and as soon as I work that out, I will get pictures up!!!

Thanks...

Having problems posting pics.. I have the pics on my computer in JPEG format.. Is there an easy way to post them? I have tried pasting directly to the post, as well as following the Insert Media tab, but it is asking for a URL to link my pics...

You need to use a photo hosting site. Most people seem to use photobucket, but there are others.
