Not off the top of my head, but I'll keep an eye out.  I see Kestral's pop up from time to time.

Just out of curiosity, why not a P4, Spec Shiv, or Speed Concept if you're really looking to get fast?  Aside from perhaps cost. Big Smile  I seem to recall those framesets are wind-tunnel tested whereas Kestral's aren't.  I could be confusing Kestral's with something else and be wrong on that, though.

PM me since this is OT.  I'm interested in your setup!  Wheels, group, you know, the deets.

Cheers

Arki! Yeah, I tried getting lost a few times...didn't pan out. Heheheh. I HAVE been a building fiend, but the lack o' internet has kept me from participating in GB's etc. I'll have to take a group photo of everything I've done in the past year or so. Yes

As far as time trialing - getting into it big time. The ones last year were good (pr's on both), and I know I can be faster this year after refining my position on the rig. Actually looking for a slightly smaller frame so I can lay myself out a bit flatter - if you happen to know anyone who's getting rid of one of THESE, let me know!

Dude, welcome back.  I was wondering if you had finally managed to get yourself lost in the Maine backwoods out on a ride. Big Smile

How's the new TT rig?  Looks like you've dipped your toes into time trialing.

Get posting all those builds you've done, slacker!

Actually, it's just called a U.S. Passport Card...which is why I couldn't find it by googling Western Hemisphere Travel card. Hmm

Yeah, that's the ticket! 55 bucks versus 140. Since I don't think I'm heading to Europe any time soon, that's most likely the way to go.

Or this one about the US Passport Card:

Not sure if this will help, but try this link:

Huh. I'm not finding anything about this Hemisphere Travel card...got a link dated in 2011 about it? The international travel rules have been changing awfully quickly.

Vance - unfortunately that's Memorial Day weekend here in the States. Rough week at work, don't think that one would pan out. Sad

as for a passport, you can get in the US a Hemisphere Travel card, its less money than a passport, you can travel anywhere in this hemisphere. Not sure if their available in Canada..

One minor caveat about crossing the Canadian border.

I've seen news clips of ( don't know how true ) Canadian officials confiscating anything that looks like a gun.

...might be good to leave those Dragon 1 / 3 rd scale gun models at home, too.

Doing well buddy, crazy Christmas/New Years & busy runnnning everyone else around. Got a serious case of "octopus builder syndrome", too many kits on the go, seems to take forever to get anything done. Trying to clean up some small stuff as well as scratch-building a Horten wing and doing some serious plastic surgery on a Revell P-38. (What have I done?)

I'm in the same boat, passport-wise. I really need to get mine so I can make a run down your way. Your next excuse for "needing a passport" comes on May 28, Fredericton, NB: Spring CAMS Show. I'm not sure yet if I'll be displaying anything, but I've got it circled on the calendar to attend for sure.

Well, I wouldn't say NO more lurking outside the library...those pic-heavy WIP threads some people like to throw up will still have to be viewed "elsewhere"!

VAAAAANCE - I knew you'd pop in here at some point. How's it going? I'm trying to come up with enough reasons to spend the money on a passport so I can head over your way for a show or two. Heh.

I'm sure I'll get back into the GB-hosting thing at some point...probably towards the end of this year after my busy season at work is over, and cycling is starting to wind down. Maybe Octoberish?

I do really enjoy the fact that FSM keeps all of the old threads open for use as a resource - that 251 GB has TONS of great info if you're ever building a halftrack!

I had to look for that great 251 GB and I went thru many pages last night.   It was one of great GBs I have seen since I joined.  You did very well!  Don't hesitate to let me know if you are thinking about doing a GB after June.  Good to have you back Dupes. Yes

Indeed! The 251 GB was a HUGE success...as was 1,000 Roadwheels (all Panzer IV-based chassis'), and both of the Winter Warriors GBs. I think we were probably supposed to do another iteration of that one this winter (every two years), but that will have to wait until the end of 2011/early 2012.

Welcome back Dupes!  I sure remember you well... correct me if I am wrong you led one of GBs earlier on 251s?

I've been gone for so long, and I see so many new faces around I figure I'd better (re)introduce myself.

Due to the vagaries of my location - backwoods Maine - I've been saddled with dialup internet...forever. When the forum changeover happened at the end of 2009, the site got redesigned, making it virtually unusable to the dialup types out there (think 10-15 minutes to load a page...if it wasn't totally packed full of pictures). Coupled with the fact that there's no limit on pic size on FSM (doesn't need to be - they don't host them!), and the ever-widening influence of affordable broadband, that was pretty much the end of Dupes. TOTALLY AGAINST HIS WILL!

Fast forward to two months ago with the release of the new Samsung Galaxy and U.S. Cellular's decision to allow free tethering to anyone with a solid enough monthly plan - all of a sudden Dupes has broadband! Not unlimited, mind you, but 5gb a month. Sounds like a ton, but I'll still have to monitor how many times I click on pic-heavy threads (or at all). However, I'm back in the game!

Been building a ton, lots of things that haven't found their way to these fine pages...hopefully I can pick up where I left off ~15 months ago. So to those of you that have joined recently, glad to meet you! For all the old salts around, nice to see you again!
