Welcome to the Forums Mike! Wonderful to have you join us. There is an unlimited amount of resources and knowledge right here at your fingertips. Ask questions, show us pics of your builds and don't use a keyboard right after gluing parts on your model. Not good. Enjoy yourself here.

Welcome to the forums!  I'm in the same boat, coming back to the hobby after a (very) extended hiatus.  And you're right, the hobby has progressed tremendously.  Thankfully, we have the internet to "catch up."

Enjoy!

Welcome aboard Riffraff. Glad you are back in the hobby again. I too have that problem with not enough hours in the day. I usually get up at around 4-5 am and work in peace and quiet until about 6 when the rest of the family is awake. Weekends?? I wake up at the same time and get bonus time until about 7am. I figure it this way, my modelling doesn't interfere much with family life or the "honey do" list. Good to have you here and looking forward to the interaction, Joe

Hi everybody! My name is Mike and I live in central Canada.  I used to love building models when I was a kid but like so many of us, life got in the way. It's been about 20 years since I built my last one as a teenager and I sure missed it.

Over the last few weeks doing some research I have discovered how much has changed in this hobby (gotta love the internet). Anyway all this has certainly helped to renew my interest again. I love the real American Muscle Cars and all types of Aircraft but won't limit my modelling interests to just those. I plan to build some tanks and ships too. The biggest obstacle I will find is time, as there just isn't enough hours in a day.

I am fortunate to have set up a room in the basement that is our "arts and crafts room" so it's a room with a purpose and great place to work. For spray painting etc I can go out to my heated workshop as we have long cold winters with temps in the -30's. It's also the place were I restore my real world cars. I have basically been a "car guy" since I was 5 years old, and although I admire and appreciate all old cars, and my favorites are the Muscle and Pony Cars of the 60's and early 70's.

Anyway I'm looking forward to lots of reading here, and posting the occasional question when I get stuck or need help.
