Hi Pete,

Welcome.

I am just learning how to airbrush myself and I've developed my own method that I call the left head method. I turn my head to the left squint out of the corner of my eye, and let the paint fly hehehehe.

Again, welcome :)

When I get the cockpit done I'll post a pic or two. It won't be award winning, but I don't think anyone

Welcome to the Forums. Charge up the batteries in your camera and take lots of photos of your builds. That's one of the things everyone here has in common. We like to see photos.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. As I said, I am working on Revell's TBD-1 Devastator. So far, pretty good. I've been treating this as a reintroduction and am just having fun with it while I work on my technique and experiment. The airbrush is back up and running and I'm managing to get it dialed in pretty well. Today, I coated the interior of the fuselage with Future so I can experiment with some washes and managed to get a lot of the interior pieces sprayed too. When I get the cockpit done I'll post a pic or two. It won't be award winning, but I don't think anyone will mind.

And yes, the posts on these forums have been a tremendous help thus far.

Welcome to endless wonder and friendly arguments without end.
Model builders have powerful imaginations, which are essential and dangerous. Models are petrified imagination. Post lots of pictures.

Hi all,

I'm back in the hobby after many, many years away. I built models as a kid, even getting a membership to the Revell Model Builders Club (remember that?). After I was married and before I had kids to occupy my time I began building again finding that I favor military planes and armor. Now, fast forward about 18 years and the passing of a neighbor led to my inheritance of his collection. Now I find myself with the bug again. I'm getting my feet wet and relearning technique. I've found the internet is a HUGE overwhelming resource to use. Currently, I'm working on some Tamiya WWII figures and a Revell TBD-1 Devastator. I break out the airbrush today and begin the next step.

I look forward to being back in the hobby and would love to know what some of the best web resources are (besides FSM) for airplane and armor building.

Cheers,
Pete
