Whats up folks. My Name is David and I am a 34 yr. old Scale modeller from Canada. I have been scale modelling on and off for the past 24 yrs. I have been a reader of FSM for the majority of those 24 yrs and on the forums since about 2007.
I started to post in 2008 on and off and had planned to make a come back to the hobby at that point. I got back into the swing of the swing of things but again it was an on and off affair with a lot of unforeseen issues popping up over those few years.
Last year I purchased my first house and had to put modelling on the back burner once again with the move and the fact that the house did not really have enough space to set up a work area. It is a small 800 sq. ft. bungalow with no basement or second floor. The second bedroom is being used as my computer / media room which is the only place that I could model in. This was bought as a starter home and I only plan on being in it for another year max. The next place will be something bigger and permanent where I plan to have a room dedicated to scale modelling.
I never really left the forums over the past few years but did not really post as I had nothing to contribute. I decided a few weeks ago that I was going to start scale modelling again. Only on a smaller scale until I have a more functional work space in my next place.
This recent push to get back into the hobby was all fuelled by the fact that by brother in law has recently purchased a hobby shop that is geared towards Plastic scale modelling and RC. This has opened a whole new world for me with literally anything I need at my finger tips. He is an RC guru and I have been helping out a bit with the scale model stuff a bit and as time permits I hope to help him in a greater capacity.
I kept all of my important tools and my airbrush / compressor but parted ways with my small stash a year and a half ago that I had been rebuilding. My main stash of about 100 kits was sold off in my early 20's. This all brings me to now.....
I just picked up 2 small 1/72 scale Revell kits from the shop today to get me started again. I picked up the Arado AR 196 A-3 and the FW 190F-8. These will be small enough to build on my computer desk and practice my brush painting skills as I don't have any place to airbrush at the moment unless I am at the shop which is 45 mins away. I mainly built 1/35 scale Armour and 1/48 and larger aircraft in the past which I will go back to as space permits.
Sorry for the long post but I do hope to contribute to the forum regularly again.
Thanks for reading!
