Thanks for the warm welcome.  I just bought an airbrush and compressor, so I'm starting to practice with that before I start my first build.  I'll make good use of the resources here to learn proper airbrush technique.

Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the Forums. I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time. Used to drag race back in the late '50s and early '60s so i build cars whenever I see one that catches my eye or build Street Rods. But favorites are WWI and WWII fighters.  My name is Jim and I am a plasticaholic.

Getting Back Into it After Looooong Absence
Posted by raylinds on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 5:38 PM

I am 55 and getting back into model building, which I stopped back in the mid 70s!  I mainly built cars- mostly drag racers and hot rods, but was also did some fighter jet models (my dad was in the Air Force and I used to love watching them take off and land).

Mycurrent interests are for both cars and jets.  I'm interested in some of the nostalgia models that I built as a kid, like the Silhouette, Beatnik Bandit, Mysterion, etc., and have already purchased a few of these.  I am also a big fan fo the 1/12 scale Tamiya Formula One cars (I've become a huge F1 fan), and have purchased a few of these kits as well.

Anyway, looking forward to building and participating in the forums.

Cheers,

Ray
