Hello From New York!
Posted by nidan on Friday, March 8, 2013 11:38 AM

Hello Guys,

My name is Fred, I live on Long Island New York. I started modeling armor back in the late 70's, but family and work obligations forced me to give up the hobby.

Within the last few years, I have started up again, and now that I'm retired, I have the time and funds to enjoy the hobby to the fullest. My current project is the old Dragon Orange Box M4A4, you know the one chock full of instruction errors, incorrect molding of weld patterns and a set of DS tracks that are long enough to fit on two Shermies.

Anyway, I wanted to say Hi, and to let you know I've been lurking in these forums for a few months, so I know the quality of the work in here, and the fact that you folks are helpful anf knowledgable.

Regards

Fred

Welcome to the Forums Fred. My name is Jim and I am a plasticaholic. I love the smell of plastic in the mourning. Glad to have you aboard. I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time. As you can tell from the answers you got so far, we love to see pics of your builds. So, get building and posting pics. Enjoy.

Hi Fred, just thought that I would let you know that there is a contest coming up soon at the Wayne, N.J. Pal location. You can Google it on N.J.IPMS. It's always a great show and lots of guys from the Forum go there. You don't have to enter if you don't have anything ready, but you will love looking at all the great models that are there. Lots of vendors there too, so if you need, or want, anything it will probably be there at one of the tables. It's on Saturday April 6 from 9 to 5. Check it out. Maybe I'll see you there.

A beginning is a very delicate time. Know then that it is the year 2013. The Known Universe is ruled by Matthew Usher. In this time, the most precious substance in the universe is polystyrene plastic. Glue extends plastic. The plastic expands consciousness. The plastic is vital to modelers. The Fine Model Builder Guild and its wonderful lunatics in FSM, who the plastic has mutated over 77 years, which gives them the ability to fold photoetched-metal. That is, cyanoacrylate sticks to any part without moving. Plastic must flow!!!

Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.

TomZ2 - Love the 2 movies and the game too. Don't have the game anymore as somehow I got a virus a few weeks ago that totally destroyed the operating system on my computer. My wife gave me her laptop to use. She has a tablet now. Don't have all the equipment on here as I did on my old one. Don't think it would fit anyway. Long live the plasticaholics.
