Greetings From Oregon!
Posted by mrmartin75 on Friday, April 12, 2013 5:05 PM

Greetings all!

My Name Is Mike and I'm currently in Shady Cove, Oregon. I'm 37 and have been in the hobby for as long as i can remember. My first Kit was a '67 mustang. Let me tell ya...didn't turn out ANYTHING like the cover :) The Hobby has just grown on me in many other aspects too. I also like painting and building RPG miniatures, RPG terrain, Auto's, Planes,.. you name it. My main would be the Valkyrie / Veritech jets from the Robotech/Macross Animations. I'm also looking into building a few US Navy Ships for my Veteran Family members.

I also wanted to say thank you. For having a place for someone like me could come and talk to others in the hobby. I hope to be of help where i can, and look forward to your advice!

Slainte!

Mike

Howdy.

You've found a great place!  There's lots of information crammed in here.  We love to see pictures of your builds.

Enjoy.

On the bench:  Tamyia Mosquito Mk. VI for the '44 group build.  Yes, still.

Welcome !   My first glue together kit was an AMT 56 Ford Victoria. It was CRAPTACULAR !

That was 41 years ago.

Every once in a while I can still build the occasional piece of poo ! But I have improved a lot since then.

Jump on in and share your knowledge with the rest of us here on the " Funny Farm ".

Welcome Sign  Modelling is a obsession, an occupation, an illness, an inclination, a fascination, an absurdity, a fate. It is not a weak mind’s hobby. Those, which do it, must do it. Those, which do not do it, think of it as a cousin from stamp collecting, sister of the trophäekabinetts [trophy cabinet] and [dinkywongo] of a sound bank account.

Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.

^^^^ that needs to be on a shirt!

I saw a few comments people posted and i thought i should be kind enough to reply..

Shady cove is a nice place. Along a River, small town...nothing exciting except the Bald eagles we have.

Thats cool seeing them flying over the river going fishing. Awesomeness.

As for my pint of delight Guinness is top notch, yet Smithwick's is my ultimate. And If I'm handed a Boddingtons or Murphys ..i wouldn't flinch :)

Currently nothing on the bench. Just made my supply order to get started. However, the stash is getting outta control. I do need to get a move on :)

Nice to see another Oregonian on the forums.

Modeling is definitely a learning experience.  I'm constantly picking up new tips and techniques here and in the magazine.  My skills since I found this site have improved exponentially, I'm sure you'll find all sorts of new stuff here.
