Welcome aboard Joe. Like some of the others have mentioned start out cheap (and easy) to get some of the basic aspects of modelling down, ask questions, share your pics and work and enjoy yourself. There are lots of folks here that love to help so dont be afraid to call out for it when you need it. Good having you in here, Joe

Welcome to the Forums and also to the hobby Joe!! I've been building for 66 of my 72 years and never regretted a minute of it. I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time. Start out small and work your way up. There are lots of great guys, and gals, on here that are ready, willing, and able to help you with any questions/problems that you may have. Once in a while, you might get a weird answer or two. Don't let it bother you. Some of us have been sniffing glue and paint fumes for a LONG time. Wink We all have two things in common. Number one is that we all build some type of model or figures. Number two is that we all like to see photos of other peoples builds. So, please post photos of your builds for all to see.

Welcome, Joe, good to have you with us. One of the great things about this hobby is that it's pretty easy to start small (and cheap) and work up to six-figure kit prices and platinum aftermarket sets in discrete stages.

Any pics of your customized figures to share? It's not something I know a lot about, but it's always fun to see what other creative minds get up to.

Hey Joe, welcome aboard.  Check yard sales, estate sales, flea markets, Craigslist, even eBay, you can always come across a good deal or 2.  Keep your eyes open and you too will have a stash of plastic!

A college student especially needs something to wind down with and to relax the little gray cells.

hello my name is joe, ive been looking around this forum for a couple of weeks. i have never worked on a model but i used to customize action figures....which is sorta similar.

i am a historic preservation major currently in college...also working on an art minor. being a HP major, the military models tend to catch my eye.

would love to get into models soon, was a hobby lobby recently and was oogling at the ship models lmao

college is expensive and money is low....but when ever i get any extra i am definatly picking me up 1 or 2 to start on
