HELLO!!!
Posted by Blairy on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 2:33 AM

I dont normally introduce myself on most forums, but I am interested in getting quite involved in this one.

My name is Eli and I live in Brisbane Australia. I am apart of the ADF (Australian Defence Force) in the army. I am 24, married, and have a beautiful baby girl that is now 2.

Like most people I spose, I used to build models as a kid with my dad. They were only basic but that is were it all starts. I lost interest through school (when cars and girls filled my head), and now have the interest back.I am basically starting from scratch, so I will need to learn all the tricks of the trade. I am quite excited to take up this new hobby and make new friends here all over the world.

Regards

Eli

Welcome aboard, Eli, glad to have you with us. Always good to have another denizen of "the Land of Sunshine and Sharks" (as the poms in Monty Python used to say) with us. There's a good group of folks here from all over, with lots of different modeling interests to suit (nearly) every obsession. Jump in on the discussions, feel free to ask questions, and (best of all) post pictures of your work, if you care to. It's always fun to see what other modelers are up to.

Any particular area of interest or scale? There are ongoing group builds that let you get in contact with those who share your area(s) of interest.

Glad to have you aboard, all members of the Colonies are more than welcome here. Quite a few ex and a few serving military here as well, so your in good company. Don't be afraid to ask any questions if there's anything want to know. And I am sure you can bring some fresh ideas to the forum yourself.

All we ask is lots of pictures of your builds, and that you have fun.

Thanks guys!

Gregbale, I s'pose my real interest lies in diorama's, but Im very keen to try everything. And I saw those group builds. very interesting.

I see that you all like pictures, :-) so i will try and post as many up as I can. I will admit that pictures make the thread! otherwise they are kind of boring.

Anyway, thanks for saying Hi and I'm sure I will see you all in the other threads.

Regards

I am very keen to make a diorama depicting my time in afghanistan. Though i want to do a good job of it so it wont be my first one. I also have an idea to makea vietnam "dust off" diorama. That was two ideas i had. I like theretobe a story behind my work i guess.

Hey Eli. Good to have you onboard. I got caught up in cars and life in general and now I'm back to building again. Ive been back for about 1-1/2 years so far and its great I'll tell you. Sold my Ford Mustang about 3 years ago and didn't have a hobby any more so I took this one back up and its alot LESS expensive than building a real car. Welcome aboard and cant wait to see some pics of the diroma youre talking about, Joe

I have another Question:

Why are Australian burgers so darn good? I was in Australia for nearly a month and loved it!
