I'm finally getting life settled down a bit and I'm starting to get ready to get back into some modeling. The last thing I built was probably in 1982 or so.
I'd like to get more into the artistic and detailing side of modeling that I never had the time or inclination for back then. As I start setting up my workspace and planning my first project I'm amazed at the number of different model manufacturers. Trying to pick a sigle project is going to be tough, but I wanted to see if i could get a little advice so I could get a good start.
I'm looking at either military aircraft (prefer WWII warbirds) or car (1960's Muscle) models to start with. I've never done any serious airbrushing, but I am planning on getting at least an entry level brush when it's needed. The first build or two will probably focus on the construction - gap filling, smoothing, interior detailing and the rest of the basics.
So which manufactures should I lean towards and (probably more importantly) which ones should I avoid?
If there's any sites or articles that would help please pass them on.
Thank for the help
