Hello from a new member
Posted by Cinefyl on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 5:32 AM

Good morning everyone,

My name is Jason and I wanted to take a moment to say hello. I am a mid-forties Dad and Husband looking to get back into scale modeling as a hobby. I haven't done any serious modeling since the 1980's so I know I have a lot to learn about products, techniques, tips, tricks and just about everything (lol).

My ultimate goal is to work on dioramas (such as military, vehicle, ships) as I think there is a lot of room for exploration as that medium incorporates model making, crafting, mixed materials and really gives the brain a workout as one thinks "outside the diorama".

Looking forward to learning and sharing ideas.

Best-

Jason

Welcome along Jason. Good to have you here.

You will no doubt be able to find the answer to (almost) any modelling question you may have on this forum, as well as the answers to some questions you didn't even know to ask ;)

Thanks for the kind welcome all, I am looking forward to learning and contributing. After browsing through some of the other forums I am amazed at how much the hobby has advanced since I was a kid back in the day.

Welcome to the forums Jason!  As a late forties dad and husband, you are correct!  There have been lots of changes in the hobby....but have the fun now is finding out about them and doing them...and the best part is you can afford more stuff now then when you were a kid!  Be sure to post some pics of your builds!
