Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard!

Build whatever you like. The only person you have to please is yourself. Relax and enjoy. If you need any help, just ask. Plenty of great guys (and gals) on here that are knowledgeable and ready to help. I've been building for 67 of my 73 years and I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time. I learn something new almost every day.

Don't worry about what your builds look like at first, you will get better with each build and as you learn new techniques. The members here are very helpful and happy to share their knowledge. Be carful, this hobby is VERY addicting, especially when you have a reason to build such as a Group Build or just wanting to show your work.

Thank you all for your responses.

A few days later with the model I can say it is fun, and this hobby seems to be providing me with the much needed relaxation after a long day of work.

I want to learn, and there is a lot to learn. I plan to post pictures of my first build to get some feedbacck from you guys, see what you think and get some pointers. Now, don't get too excited about my builds because this is technically my first model and I don't think it's going to be as good as some of the pictures you guys have posted. But you would do me a great service criticizing my models. I plan to hang out here and, after getting a few more models under my belt, getting a subscription to the magazine. I bought the current issue and it looks like it has good tips and techniques to learn.

Hi guys and gals, new to the forum and to modelling.

I'm a working adult who was in dire need of a hobby and decided to give modelling a shot. I did some "modelling" when I was a child but nothing serious and never stuck with it, so basically I am working on my first model. I read quite a bit on the internet on modelling, painting, tools, weathering, etc. and just got started with a 1/72 Humber MKII.

Right now I don't know what my main modelling subject will be for sure, but I can tell you that after researching I think I'll stick with armored vehicles and and airplanes, maybe move up in scale down the road. There is a lot to learn in this hobby, I see, so I thought joining a forum might be a good way to learn.

Enough about me, see you around
