Planning to Help out
Posted by TomGlander on Sunday, August 17, 2014 2:16 PM

Like many, I built a lot of models as a kid. Mostly hot rods. And one helicopter that crashed into a patio wall after I sent it flying. Kids. Not a lot of patience.

Today, after 50 years of walking to and fro on this planet, I'm starting to build models again. Going to delve into planes. First up:  Mustang P51D.  Revel kit 5241. Scale is 1:48.

I'm creating a painting "booth" for airbrush and spraying. It's made of cardboard with a duct system and fan to draw vapors and whatnot away from the room I work in. I put up a YouTube video with info on this in case anyone wants to make one.  http://youtu.be/hzh0pWUzXeg

Anyway, I'll do more videos and such and post when I can. Enjoying this site, became a subscriber to the magazine, and looking forward to my first issue plus the bonus mag I ordered. I've always enjoyed this kind of "work". Very relaxing and lets me be creative.

Thanks to all for the welcomes. It's going to take a few days to get ramped up. I need to study more magazine articles and whatnot. Getting the room ready as well, takes time. But everything is coming along nicely.

Welcome Tom,

Have any questions,  just ask. There's someone in here that knows the answer and I'm always willing to learn something new.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
