I think you and I might have the same kinds of problem with fingers vs. keyboard. I have a hard time navigating these online forums and stuff.

I see you have some car's and ship's in the works. Do you have any You Tube video's or other pictures out there that I might check out?

Thanks for the welcome. Scrappycat was the name of a little stray kitten that I found when I lived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Unfortunately I'm not putting in as much time with my modeling as I would like to at the moment, but I'm always looking for inspiration from other builders. If you have any pictures or videos anywhere I would love to check them out.

I have not been as active as I would like to lately, but will still pick away at the few kits I have going at the time.Definitely found the airbrush intimidating at first but, as you said, using video's (like You Tube: Doctor Cranky, etc.) have helped a great deal to ease my anxieties. I have posted a few videos of my own progress on You Tube and have had some very encouraging responses.

If you have any You Tube videos or pictures of your work I would love to see them...

Welcome to the forums. I, too had just returned to the hobby myself a year ago after 20 plus years away. Like you, I started using an airbrush for the first time since my grandparents bought it for me 20 plus years ago. LOL! (Yes, the airbrush was still new in the box).

Actually it's not so bad if you learn on the fly watching youtube videos and such.

Don't sweat the airbrush thing.  Strictly speaking for myself, I've determined that airbrushing is NOT an exact science.  I've been using one since maybe the early '90s and I still have yet to master it.  I've gotten to the point where I have more successes than failures but my technique is anything but perfect.  In my case, I think it's about 10% skill and 90% luck.  LOL!

One thing you might realize is that no matter how many years you build models, you're always learning something new.  Mistakes will still be made no matter if you've been building for one week or 35 years like I have.  So don't be shy!  Ask questions!  Post pictures!  It's always fun and exciting to see what's being worked on.  Most of all, enjoy.

I watched a bit of your first video. I can tell you that a big part of the problem you are having spraying Vallejo Air is using alcohol/water mix to thin. Can't thin Vallejo with alcohol, or try to clean your ab with it.

Best to use Vallejo thinner. I hear folks thin with just water, never had much luck with that myself.

I've been learning something new almost every day of the 67 years that I've been building. I just got an airbrush recently and I'm still low on the learning curve, but, I'll get there slowly but surely. You are now a member of Plasticaholics Anonymous. Your stash will grow faster than you can build and there is nothing that you can do about it. Relax and enjoy the hobby.
