I've been checking out this site for several months. I decided I needed another hobby after shooting and reloading became too expensive. I built model aircraft as a kid but I know if I looked at them today they would be terrible to look at. My grandfather modeled military aircraft and was passionate about his model railroad. He's the one who sparked my interest in modeling and I remember many frequent trips to the local hobby stores. After his passing I inherited his model railroad and I knew I would someday return to modeling.
After the move to KC I needed a new hobby and modeling popped back into my head. I've bought quite a few kits as well as an airbrush and I have been struggling to finish a kit. Sometimes being a perfectionist is difficult. My first child was born in May and that's sure forced me to cut back on modeling time. I know I'll finish a kit one of these days. I'm sure I was like most when I was a kid... I assembled the kits and never used paint. They all had to be glue bombs.
I've gained so much knowledge since I've been lurking the forum and I eagerly anticipate the arrival of FSM in the mailbox every month. Thanks again for all the info guys and keep making this one of the best forums around.
