Hi from NL
Posted by SpliffY on Thursday, September 11, 2014 8:05 AM

Hi everyone,

I'm an IT guy from the Netherlands, caught by modelling again after a 30 year break. Now able to take things more 'seriously', I'm preshading, airbrushing heat discoloring and I even caught myself buying aftermarket upgrades Stick out tongue

For now I prefer 1:72 Cold War era jet aircraft, sofar I built a Zvezda MiG-31, an SU-17 (not sure of the brand, but let's say Fitter was not the best nick) and an Academy MiG-23, now building a Zvezda SU-27. Waiting are a Revell Tornado Pride of Boelcke and a Hobby Boss F-14A.

Not sure how active I will be in the fora, but appreciative of everyone taking the time for that and their posts have been a great help already more than once.

Cheers!

Welcome Spliffy!

Wow!  Thirty years is quite the break but I'm sure glad you jumped right back in the game.  This forum is a great place to hang out and pick up lots of tips.  I've been modeling since 1977 without a break and I'm still learning stuff from all the wonderful people here in the FSM family.

Can't wait to see your work!

Welcome aboard. Be careful of those aftermarkets items, they can be addictive.

Welcome to the Forums Spliffy! Glad to have you aboard!

Welcome to Plasticaholics Anonymous! We're all addicts here to one degree or another. I've got it pretty bad. I've been building for 67 of my 73 years and have a stash that will keep me building for at least the next 200 years Wink IF I don't but any more.

Enjoy and show us pics of your builds.

Welcome,

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Wow, thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Here's a pic from my current project, I'll make some of the existing models when I had a chance to fix the cat induced damage...
