Yia Sas (Hello) from Greece...
Long time reader of FSM magazine when I was living in NYC and been a guest around these parts for a while. Finally decided to become a member.
I've been building models since I was 4. The very first one was a 1/48 SR-71 Blackbird that I put together in a day with decals. All I remember of it was flying it around the house making the jet noises. Fast forward 32 years and I'm still making those jet noises and flying models around as I work on them.
After realizing I didn't like what I was doing as a 'career', I quit and moved to Greece. I was in the marketing and advertising industry (executive level in creative). The money was good, but I was miserable.
Now living in Greece, I've started a model/replica prop business. This I love doing. Always a challenge, always learning some new trick or technique to move things along. Never a dull day. Best of all, I get to use all my tools... hand tools, machine tools, drafting, modeling, sculpting, woodworking, the list goes on and on, but you get the idea.
I've been working on a kitbash of a C-17 globemaster to replicate the aircraft in Agents of SHIELD for an upcoming IPMS-Hellas event the first week of October. I'll be posting some pics of that very soon.
I look forward to being around these parts for a while.
Thanks for lookin.
