Hello from Canada
Posted by ForlornHope on Thursday, October 23, 2014 11:56 AM

Hello all!

I'm ForlornHope, from Canada.

I built a few models as a kid (mostly Sci-Fi stuff), and a few more in College (on a budget, they were horrible).

Now that I have actual capital, I am trying to do this hobby some justice.

Just wanted to say hello, and look forward to using this website as a resource to improve!

Welcome ForlornHope,

Jump in and have fun, be carful though, this hobby is very addicting, especially with some capital.

I remember saving up to purchase a Revell (I think) U-boat. It was only a few dollars but took me forever to get it. Boy was I excited to open that up.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Welcome to the center for plastic addiction forum!  Dive right in and start having fun!  Ask tons (metric tons for our Canadian brethren) of questions.  Everyone here is friendly almost to a fault.  What kind of subjects are you most interested in?  Aircraft?  Armor?  Ships?  Autos?  Sci fi?

Best wishes,

Eric

Welcome from someone with Canadian ancestry.  We used to visit Kincardine, Ontario each year from Detroit when I was a kid.  I remember the summer when, to pass the time during the visit, I picked up a balsa flying model kit and got it about half built during the week we spent there.

Don  I'll bet that you picked that balsa model up at  Harry Chapman's Department store in Kincardine.

I'm a life long area resident and went to high school in Kincardine. You should come here in the winter, its just like Minnesota.

Welcome aboard ForlornHope

the forum is addicting too but there is tons of good info and tons of friendly people who will answer advice questions on everything. everyone was where you are at some point and we remember. look at the group builds, a really fun way to meet folks usually with similar interests. we will probably be doing a Canadian group build (GB) sometime next year.

i'm still saving up. hobbyboss SS-23 and T-35 are now available so.......
