Welcome to the group!  I joined this group earlier this year and I find myself visiting this site MULTIPLE times a day, from home, at work and on my phone!  I would agree that TomZ2 has nailed this on the head!  I can also relate to the Super-glued finger ailment...

Unlike many others, I want to say this: RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!

This hobby has some of the most addictive attributes going:

(A) Collectors Syndrome. There’s always another kit/book/tool/add-on you’ve GOT to get.

(B) God Complex. Within the limits of your workbench, you are a minor deity (emphasis on MINOR).

(C) Byzantine Modeler Complaint. There’s ALWAYS something that could be done better.

(D) Super-Glued Finger Ailment. (DON’T ASK.)

(E) Obsessive–Compulsive Personality Disorder. If you’re not OCPD now, you will be.

There must be many more modeling-related illnesses. You’ll find them for yourself soon enough! Welcome to the club!

Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.

Welcome Kriegsmarine, I like your screen name. Welcome Sign

Wow, you sound like me. and some of my first modeling experiences were similar.

Be sure to show some of you work, they sound great.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I've been an avid modeler for many years, with only a few gaps in my history. At first I was never picky about what I build, anything in any scale. Unfortunately my earlier attempts were fraught with messy gluing, bad paint jobs, etc. Almost all of these were relegated to destruction in various adventures. Since then I have become more specific in my tastes. 1/48 scale planes and armor, Sci-Fi and horror related kits. I like to have several kits going at once so I don't have to wait to while the glue or paint dries on one kit, I can just move on to the next one. I am currently working on the following projects: 1. Revell's 1/426 USS Arizona (a long term build as I am getting after market items). 2. Monogram's 1/8 Black Knight of Nurnburg 3. MRC' 1/9 Anubis and Ra for their Stargate Series 4. Moebius's 1/124 Flying Sub with diaorama 5. Heller's 1/144 Alaska Airlines Boing 727 6. Dungeon, mad scientist's laboratory using some of the Monster Scenes kits 7. A conversion of Monogram's 1/48 AD-6 Skyraider to one flown by VFA-195, flown during the Korean war and participated in a dam busting raid. And there's plenty more where those came from as I have a modest stash of kits waiting to see the light of day!
