I've used solder for fuel lines and the like, also 30 ga wire does pretty well.
As far as the painting questions/tips can you be a little more specific? You'll get better results in the Painting forum. More members look there than the intro section.

CaptScott here. Heard that solder wire is good for cockpit , engine detailing. Any application and painting tips? New to site so please excuse my lack of computer skills.
