Getting back into modelling
Posted by Rivmage on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 12:02 PM

Hi all,

I haven't touched a model in about 23 years.  I've always enjoyed building things, as a kid I would always take things apart and try to improve them.  This last week, I have picked up some Gundam HG models, while fun and getting me back into the putting things together mode. They lack a bit of a challenge and I'm looking to move up in my skill level.

I have always lack skills in the painting and details of the model hobby, I'm hoping to improve without ruining too many good models.

Welcome Scott  Welcome Sign

Take a look at the work from others, ask questions, post some of your builds, and you will learn some things and teach us some things.
In my short time here I have watched members greatly improve their skills, and I believe I have improved on some of mine as well.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Welcome to the group!  I echo everything that Steve mentioned.  This is a great place and everyone is willing to share and learn without judging others on their skill, no matter the level.  I've learned a ton since coming here about a year ago.

Welcome. It seems to be true that many who used to build models are now getting back into it. So much easier with references available on the WWW.

Welcome to FSM, Scott.

And I'm sure we've all ruined a lot of good models, developing our skills.
