Hi guys! Recently became unemployed, so I've got more time on my hands. I've been modelling for about 54 years now. I got the bug following my dad from base to base while he served in the Air Force as an F-106 crew chief and Crash boat skipper.

I joined the Navy in 1973 as an Aviation Fire Control Technician, and got out in 1979. I worked on the F-4J/S aircraft while assigned to VFs 33, 101 and 171.Really old school stuff compared to today. Currently in the middle of a project to build an example of each aircraft of the squadrons assigned to CAG-7 while I was on sea duty with VF-33. I'm finishing an A-6E from VA-65 With the Hobby Boss kit, in my opinion the best of the A-6E kits available requiring the least amount of labor for an accurate model. My big stumbling block now is backdating Kinetic's E-2C to a B, labor intensive, but the only game in town. Can't find period markings for VAW-117. Anyone having any questions about the F-4J/S, or carrier ops, I'll be glad to share what I know, especially the F-4J, or S.

Welcome to the Forums!  Glad to have you aboard!

Thank you for your service.

I'm sure the guys in the Aircraft section will be glad to have you around too.  They might be able to help you  find the markings you are looking for.  Another place that might help is the Decaling section.  Give them a try.

Hope that this helps you.
