Welcome Tom!

My wife and I are planning ahead for when we retire in about 20 years.  Montana is definitely on our list of top four or five states where we'd like to move.  Is it as nice there as I think it is?  The reason it's not #1 is because, well, we live in WI and we're rapidly getting tired of all the cold and snow.  Ha-ha-ha!

I'll definitely do what I can, but I was a Network Defense team chief, not a flightline specialist. Still, I've been around the world and spent a lot of times at our airshows!

Welcome to the Forums Tom!  Glad to have you aboard!

Thank you for your service.  As long as the kit is in production, your chances are good to get the part.  Some mfgrs. will even send you the entire sprue free of charge.  If the kit is out of production, then after their parts supply runs out, then your luck runs out too.  If it's a plane part, post your question on the aircraft section of this forum and maybe another member will be able to help you.  We all have spare parts boxes. Maybe you can get lucky there.

Good Luck.  Hope this helps.

Jim Captain

P.S.  Maybe you'll be able to help someone else out with your knowledge gained while in the USAF.

Welcome Tom Welcome Sign,

I lived a few years in Havre.
You can contact Academy to see if they will send you the missing piece. Most manufactures like Revell/Monogram are fantastic with their customer service.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Greetings one and all, I've been making models since for nearly 40 years now. Spent alot of time working on Battletech miniatures and building Gundam models when I was stationed in Japan with the USAF but I'm retired now and working on a closet full of collected kits I've accumulated during my previous career. I'm currently here looking for a way to replace a lost part for an Academy model kit I bought while I was in South Korea.

Oh, I'm a brush painter, not an airbrush guy and mainly prefer WWII and Vietnam era 1/48th combat warplanes.

Cheers!

Tom
