There are many RC'ers in here, including myself. However, because of the crashing thing and the cost, I've kinda slowed down with that and went back to something that doesn't crash...well it's not supposed to at least.
What scales and subjects do you enjoy?

It's been so long since I've built anything static so I'm trying to decide what to do first.

For RC I really enjoy early flight/pioneer/ww1 and vintage gliders and vintage RC designs, though the thought of stringing up a 1/72 scale FE8 is nerve racking.

I have a bin of never built and half finished kits from my earlier years but nothing is catching my interest.

I kind of want to do something I could never find or afford until now. I've got a huge affinity for classic sci-fi movies and I've always wanted to have a shelf of flying saucers, rockets standing on their tails, etc... so I might look at tracking down some kits of those.

Rocketship X-M, Destination Moon's Rocket Ship Luna, etc...

There is a model show next weekend, Sun 22nd at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum that is just down the road, so I'm going to check it out.

See what others are doing, get some inspration and browse the buy,sell & swap tables.

Been there and done that with the R/C planes.  Had no trouble flying the things but couldn't seem to get the planes back on the ground in one piece.  Switched to R/C sailboats and raced them for about 15 or so years without a single crash or sinking.  Picked up a few trophies along the way.  Raced R/C cars too.  Been building for 68 of my 74 years and plan to keep on building until I get to the Great Workbench In The Sky.  Got enough kits in the stash to take me at least 200 or so years.

Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.  There are great guys and gals on here that are ready, willing and able to help you.

Well, I am leaving the house with my maximum spend as allowed by my "Operations Manager", as she would otherwise deem me to the couch for a yet undetermined amount of time if I came home spending too much.

Fingers crossed for some excellent finds.

I did route around in the storage bins and found my old airbrushes, which to be honest I haven't used very much, maybe 2-3 times tops. So that will be something neat and new to learn on getting back into the swing of things.

Isn't that along the same line of ''hunny, I am just popping into the LHS to buy a tin of paint''

A yuh, yuh, you got that right.  Isn't that also where something gets left in the trunk of the car under some rags and brought in later?  When I was working, I used to keep them in the spare tire compartment under the trunk and sneak them into my briefcase one at a time before I left work.  It worked for me.  

Now, when I go to a show and find a few things I "need", before leaving the parking lot I put the left over raffle tickets on the boxes.  When I come home I can say "Look what I won"!

Enjoy Heritagecon - I can't make it this year but the models on display for judging are always inspiring.
