hello and 3D printing
Posted by Danyen on Friday, May 1, 2015 1:19 AM

I am interested in talking with people that have an interest in combining 3D printing and CAD to build scale parts for their projects. I have searched the web for the same, but haven't found much except on Shapeways. I am interested in sharing CAD files of specific parts, helping out where I can...and just get more info on the hobby as I am starting to build more armor kits these days...and I am still trying to figure out how to use Vallejo paints after 30 plus years of using solvent based products.

Welcome aboard.

There are some members who do 3D. You may get some answers in the Tools, Techniques, and Reference Materials aera.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I bought a 3D printer kit. The build is finished, but I still need to get it properly interfaced with my computer, and calibrated.

I had taught myself 2D CAD okay, but finding 3d CAD another whole different bag.  I am having an awful time getting a handle on it.  And, while there are some good low priced 2D cad programs I have yet to find a free or inexpensive 3D CAD I like :-(
