Welcome to the Forums Dennis!  Glad to have you aboard!

As Steve said, check with the members in the Paint Section.  They are great with scale colors ,camo, and weathering.  They'll have you up to speed in no time flat.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Getting back into modeling
Posted by Neptune769 on Sunday, June 7, 2015 10:06 PM

Hello Everyone,

My name is Dennis, I live in Southeast Texas. When I was younger I built plenty of plastic model kits. Well I want to get back into it. However the types of models I'm working on these days are scale radio controlled boats. The reason I'm here is to learn to paint. I am tired of making my models look "New" I want to learn to do the weathering effects and things like that. I have a Lindberg 1:32 PT 109 kit I have had for years. Its time to get it going. I know the Lindberg kit is not historically accurate. So I'm thinking of not building it as the 109. But I would still like it to look typical to the type. I also have a Robbe Antja. Its a 1:20 fishing trawler made from ABS. So I'm here to get help and advice on making these both more scale looking. I look forward to getting to know you and your techniques. I figure this is probably the best place to get the help I'm looking for. The work I have seen here is fantastic. You people rock.

Regards,

Dennis (Neptune769)
