Hello fellow modelers
Posted by Comanche pilot on Friday, October 30, 2015 8:09 PM

Hi,

My name is Mike. I'm going by the screen name of Comanche pilot because that's what I fly. I've been an aircraft modeler since 1963 yet still consider myself an amateur.

I build in all scales but primarily 1/72. I can't count the number of models I have built but I remember my very first one, an X-15. I also remember the first one I bought, a P-39 Airacobra for which I didn't have the sales tax because I was too young to know what a sales tax was. The check out lady was kind enough to put in her 3 cents and dry my tears.

My modeling thing at this time is to become satisfied with my own work and teach my g'sons the joys of modeling.

Welcome aboard Mike Welcome Sign

I was trying to figure how many models I have built in my 32 years of building just the other day....let’s see, say 10-15 a year, give or take, times 32 years....320 to 480...best guess.

I still consider myself a novice, however I have seen my skills improve exponentially since joining this forum.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Thanks all for the nice welcome.

I've already ran hither and fro through portions of the forum and participated. Great place.

Welcome to the Forums!  Glad to have you aboard!

Ben building for 69 of my 75 years and build whatever strikes my fancy at the time.  I would not even want to take a guess at the number of kits I've bult as it might be toooooo much for this old heart to take.  Enjoy.  Great place with a lot of great people.
