Welcome to FSM and back to the hobby. It's changed SO much since the 70s! You may want to check out IPMS Inland Empire for some other modelers out your way...

About your avatar. I recently read a book on that very subject set during and after the Civil War. Are you making the connection to that subject?

It was not the civil war. That was West Virginia. For the state of Jefferson, It was suppose to happen the day Pearl Harbor was attacked. No this is not a political statement so I hope you don't see it that way. I just hope to be part of History. That was my favorite subject in school.
