Hey folks. I got into the hobby last year, after years of dreaming about doing it. Could never afford the stuff growing up. I primarily stick to armor modeling. I'm 28, I was in the Air Force as an aircraft electrician on AC-130W gunships from 2007-2013 and had some good experiences with that. Now I'm an industrial air compressor mechanic working in field service. The upside to that job is that when I don't have any jobs to get to, I tend to find myself driving to the other side of town to kill time at the local hobby shop which doesn't always go well for my wallet! I live outside of Nashville, TN but I am originally from San Jose, CA (moved here in 2004).
I'm working on an Italeri Tiger 1, and I have a few kits in my stash so far (Meng M3A3 Bradley, an Italeri Sherman, and the Italeri Armored Gun Truck). I just got an airbrush setup. I'm a history nerd, I am a big computer nerd and play a lot of PC games as well (big Blizzard fan). Love war movies. I am wanting to get into dioramas and into terrain modeling and kitbashing. The idea of using scale modeling as it's own art form really speaks to me. I have been getting model kits on clearance at Hobby Town and I am going to use them to build my first kitbash, something post-apocalyptic and Mad Max in flavor probably as that is a subject I have a lot of interest in.
