Oh, I got you. the FSM Ready Room the section members use to bring up non-modeling topics. It's pretty active and popular. The General Modeling Discussion section is where members ask or bring up topics not necessarily tied to any specific kit. The tools, techniques, painting and airbrushing and Reference Materials area are pretty specific areas for building help.

Welcome to the forum, Igor! (or is it "eye-gor"? That's for the "Young Frankenstein" fans out there)

I look forward to seeing your builds!

Best regards,

Brad

Thank you Steve for the detailed response :) and will do a post soon, as I'm planning a build in the next couple days :) maybe Tamiya's 1/48 T-34/76 mod. 1941, I've heard the kit is nicley done and always wanted to complete a t-34, hopefully in unusual markings but am pondering which one.

The second question was more a general interest question, some other forums for modelling have some interesting topics that are useful for building (tips, tricks as an example), gathering history/research or others which most members visit frequently. Each member might have a favorite topic outside the usual building and completed kit topics that are like forum favorites Or forum gems. I was curious if there was something similar and almost always the first question I ask when joining a new forum.

There's no specific section for WIPs. If you're building a plane, post it there, etc.

To answer #2, I'd say whatever you like to build the most. All the members here are knowledgeable and very helpful. You'll get all the help you need in whatever section you choose to build the WIP in. You will also find that a lot of the members post in more than 1 or 2 sections. It all depends on what they are building at the time.

Welcome Rogi Welcome Sign

To answer your fist question, no there are not separate sections for WIP or completed builds like other forums. You pick the subject and start a WIP thread. What I do is title my build as a WIP, then when it is completed I will edit the title to reflect that.

Rogi
and out of all the topic sections which one would you recomend?

I'm not quite sure I understand you second question.

Thank you so much Jim for the warm welcome, in terms of questions I do have a couple but will ask one for now. I've noticed a lot of seperate topics for completed builds, is there a specific section on the forum for builds in progress, or do we just pick the subject forum (aircraft as an Example) and then post out build progress in there?

and out of all the topic sections which one would you recomend?

Welcome to the Forums Igor! Glad to have you aboard!

If you have any questions/problems don't be afraid to ask for help. That's what we're here for.

I have been building anything that strikes my fancy at the time and my wallet is OK with it for 69 of my 75 years. I've enjoyed every minute of it (except for that time back in..........)Wink Lately I've been sticking to WWI, WWII and Korea aircraft. I've made a few 1/144 and a lot of 1/72 but old age is creeping up on me and the hands and eyes aren't what they used to be so I'm slowly finishing up the 1/72 and moving up to 1/48.

Looking foward to seeing pics of your builds.

Hello everyone on the forum, my name is Igor and its about time I made an account here, I've been reading and oogling all the amazing models, dios and submarines in Finescale Modeler for years.

I primarily work on military aircraft from 1/144 scale up to 1/48 (I have some 1/32 but never seem to get them off the bench :D ) mostly WW2 and Korea but modern aircraft do get made occasionally. I have a huge weakness for building anything from Yugoslavia, Serbia and Croatia as it is in my heritage :)

I also enjoy building tanks, submarines and dioramas and look forward to sharing some of my future builds (A manchuko airfield in 1/72 that I'm looking forward to starting soon).

Am glad to meet everyone here and looking forward to enjoying the forum and exploring it.

All the best

With Regards

Igor
