Greetings Everyone
Posted by cariboukid on Thursday, September 15, 2016 6:10 PM

Well, after a 25 year hiatus from modelling I'm just now getting back into it. The last time I built a kit I was a young man in the prime of life. I'm now middle-aged, balding with the humble beginnings of a middle-aged spread around my waist.

I'm in the process of gathering tools and supplies and I came home with a bag full of the essentials this morning ie. tweezers, files, glue, brushes etc. I've got a work table set up but I'm still a way off from sitting down (no chair yet!) at my bench and starting a kit. Next up will be a chair :), some sort of bright desk lamp, putty and on and on, the list seems endless but I'll get there.

I must admit, I'm ridiculously excited about this adventure and look forward to hanging out with you folks!

Welcome back!!! My hiatus was 15 years and WOW what a difference. If you are now middle aged you may want to start looking into a nice Optivisor, you won't regret it. If you have any questions don't be afraid ask. There is an enormous amount of knowledge here and the members are very helpful.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Thanks! That's one piece of equipment I've managed to hang onto all these years.

I also use it for aligning and installing phono crartridges on my turntable. A very handy and versatile bit of gear!

Welcome to the forums, and welcome back to the hobby! My time off was only a handful of years, but I was the same way when I came back to it...giddy like a little school girl. Lol.
