Greetings everyone
Posted by SpikeS on Saturday, October 22, 2016 7:26 PM

My name is "Spike" and I've been into models for about 50 years.  It's been some years since I have worked on any models but when I am, my favorite's are sailing ships and boats.  I just completed my 4th Constitution and was somewhat out of practise but I managed to get through it okay.  I'm going to like this website I know.  Sounds like there are a lot of good people in here.  I guess I'll be posting from time to time on the models I get a hold of.  My latest venture is the "Black Swan!"  All gray parts so painting, and a lot of it, will be ongoing for some time.  Thanks for having me here and I hope I can help sometimes.

Welcome aboard Spike. You'll find a few like minded souls here in the Ship forum who like building vessels from the "age of sail". And some seriously knowledgable folks on that subject area as well.

Welcome to the Forums Spike!  Glad to have you aboard!

I've built anything that struck my fancy for 60 of my 76 years. Sailing ships are one of my favorites as you can see from my avatar. My wife asked me to build a sailing ship for our den which she had redecorated with a "Beach Theme". I gave her my catalogs and she picked the "Scottish Maid". Took me 2 years to build and she shows it off to everyone that comes to the house.

If you need any help, just ask. The members are very knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoy!

Welcome Spike Welcome Sign, Glad to have you onboard. I enjoy and build just about everything but WW2 ships are usualy my go to kits.

There are many on here that are far more knowledgeable than I on all subjects but I like to weigh in a make a fool out of myself on occasion. That's what makes this forum so great...it doesn’t mater to anyone and all give you respect.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
