Welcome to the Forums Dave! Permission to come aboad granted sir!

Thank you for your service.

As was said above, the members in the ships section are very knowledgeable and ready to help out with any problems/questions that you might have. It sounds like you might be able to help them out too.

I'm a WWI & WWII aircraft and Sailing Ship fan followed by anything that strikes my fancy and my wallet says OK. I've been building for 70 of my 76 years and have enjoyed almost every minute of it. There was that time back in .....................    Oh well. You get the idea. I've learned a lot from the members here.

Enjoy.

Welcome Dave. Welcome Sign

We have a small but active ship section. The members who frequent that area are very knowledgeable.

I myself enjoy ships the most followed by aircraft, sci fi, armor and anything else that can be modeled.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I am a Navy Veteran (13+ years) and I am a World War II history buff.  I built many models when I was a kid and I picked the hobby back up about three years ago.  My main focus has been 1:350 scale ships, but I have also worked on several different 1:48 scale aircraft.  I like to build models of ships or aircraft that I served on or had some connection to while I was in the Navy.  Some of the models include:

USS Vicksburg (CG 69)

USS Cushing (DDG 985)

USS The Sullicans (DDG 68)

USS Arizona (BB 39)

Marshal Ustivov (Russian CG)

Admiral Paneleev (Russian DDG)

EP-3E Aries II (VQ-1)

F-14D Tomcat (VF-31)

My level of experience is by no means expert.  I want to add more detail to my models, like rigging/railing on the ships and weathering on the aircraft.  I look forward to learning more from these forums!
