Hello Everyone
Posted by bugman9317 on Sunday, May 7, 2017 8:46 AM

I figured I would stop in and introduce myself. My name is Jim and I'm from Western PA. It has been about 30 years since my last build, but my son has shown some interest and that has brought me back. I'm glad to see there is a place to find so much knowledge on model building in one place.

Hello Jim, and welcome aboard! You will find a lot of great people here, and they are always eager to offer advice and encouragement. The work that some of these modelers do can be intimidating, but they are the nicest folks on the planet and will always be glad to share their secrets. Glad you're here!

Have you flown a Ford lately?

Thanks Ashley. You are right, just browsing through the forums I see tons of models that just amaze me. I came back to the hobby because it was something I really enjoyed when I was younger and it is a good stress release that I get to spend time with my son.. I only hope we can do half as good as some of the people on here..

A warm welcome to you and your son, Jim, good to have you join. Open up a big bottle of cement, get a kit or two, sit down at the bench and have some real fun. It's a great hobby for Dad and Son, especially on those cold winter days nights when it's so good to be inside.

Just a hint if you haven't already noticed, there are separate sections lower on the opening page, like tools, painting and airbrushing, etc. When you want to find something in particular, just scroll down and you'll likely find whatever you're looking for.

Hope you and your son will really enjoy working together.
