Welcome Frank, I'll look forward to seeing those Stangs and whatever else you get cooking on the bench.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Welcome to the Forums Frank! Glad to have you aboard!

Most of the members here have arrived down the same path. Glad you're back to the hobby. It's an incurable disease that does bring with it a lot of fun instead of pain. Happy to see that you are one of the lucky ones to have a "better half" that is with you all the way. That makes it a LOT easier. Looking forward to seeing your builds here.

I've been building for 70 of my 76 years and build whatever strikes my fancy and the wallet says OK Wink. Mainly, I build WWI & WWII aircraft with anything else following closely behind. Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's what we're here for. Enjoy.

Well, I guess I'm back...

I have recently started building model airplanes again after a hiatus of almost 40 years! I was an avid modeler from childhood, through high school and college until I was maybe 30 years old. It was a hobby I really enjoyed and at one time my collection approached 100 completed model airplanes on the shelf, mostly warbirds. You know how it goes. Life happens, interests change. Back in February I had the opportunity to do a photography workshop presented by 3G Media at Stallion51 at Kissimmee Municipal Airport. I had learned to fly at Kissimmee back in the 80s. Then in April, during Sun n Fun, I was back at Stallion51 photographing more Mustangs, including a Cavalier Mustang, and then photographing even more Mustangs at Sun n Fun at Lakeland Airport. I guess photographing all of those Mustangs stimulated the need to start building again. Needless to say, my emphasis has on the P-51. Right now I have a Tamiya P-51D on the bench along with a Revell P-51D. There's also a Revell T-6G and a Revell Stearman being built. The Mustangs will be ANG Mustangs and the T-6 will be a 5th AF forward air controller from Korea. I have an Accurate Miniatures P-51B/C on order that will be finished as Jackie Cochran's green #13 she flew in the 1946 Bendix race.

I'm very lucky that my wife is very supportive of my renewed interest in the hobby. She's helping me set up a painting area on the patio. She also has bought me all the stuff I'll need to begin painting the airplanes I've been working on.

Anyway, I'm very glad to be back at it and I'm looking forward to sharing with my fellow forum denizens.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
