Thanks all for the feedback, it's great to see such an active community!

Modelcrazy - Thanks for the Vallejo tip, unfortunately my current work space (and spouseBig Smile) won't allow for use of an airbrush, hence the Model Colour purchase.

Howdy !  Canada  ey.  Lots of 1/72  builders here. I build it all  1/12 to 1/700, but for ships I prefer 1/144 the perfect scale for subs. ( I have built two 1/72 scale subs but they eat a LOT of shelf space. )

Please take a moment to fill out your Profile page. It's a great way to get to know your fellow forum members.

Just click on my name under the tiny sub at the top left corner of this post and you will get a general idea of what I'm talking about.

P.S. I'm kinda goofy so you may want to look at a few of the other members profiles ..... just so you get an idea of whats "normal".

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Welcome Welcome Sign

There are several Canadian builders here so some of them may be able to help.

There is a very large selection of supplies and kits out there and just getting larger.

Vallejo paints brush like a dream but are a little difficult to spray unless you get the ratio correct. Vallejo does make "Model Air" which is pre mixed for the airbrush

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Hello All

Hello everyone,

I have recently returned to modeling after 20ish years away, a familiar story I suspect. The resources available now are incredible, almost overwhelmingly so.

My primary area of interest is 1/72 WW2 aircraft, especially - but not only - early war British and German. I also spent the better part of a decade living in Korea since I built my last model and would like to build some 1/48 kits that represent that war, too.

The tricky part for me is that I live in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and the nearest hobby shop is a 12 hour drive away. This means I'm re-entering the hobby with only online resources to draw on; no quick Saturday trip to the hobby shop for me! I'd be especially interested in finding the best Canadian online hobby shops for ordering paints, etc.

To re-start my workbench I've got a Tamiya 1/72 Spitfire Mk. 1, Bf-109E-3, Mosquito B/Pr. IV, and an Eduard 1/72 Bf-110D lined up. I also went for some Vallejo Model Colour paints, which I have never used but am looking forward to.

Thanks for listening!
