Hello all!
Posted by C David on Thursday, March 1, 2018 1:16 PM

Greetings!

After 18 years I have gotten back into building model aircraft. I am retired Air Force and I predominately am interested in WWII aircraft. I am on my second project, a Hasegawa, Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat. I’m having a bit of problem with the paint on the vertical stabilizer as I decided to paint the stripes rather than use the decals provided.

I look forward to browsing through the forums and gathering as much knowledge as I can from the wealth of model builders here!

Nice to meet you all and I can’t wait to  converse with you all!

*I will post my Hellcat problem in the appropriate forum. :)

Howdy !

Lot's of plane guy's here. I like The WWI stuff myself. There's just something about flying a "flimsy kitelike aparatus" that appeals to me.

( OK .... so I have never been a pilot .... but I did fly in a simulator in high school, I would have "passed" the test .... if I had paid attention to the altimiter.... something about flying at NEGATIVE 3200 feet upset my Training officer ! )

Welcome to FSM.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

My favorites are WWI & WWII planes followed by sailing ships. But, I will build anything that strikes my fancy and the wallet says OK.Wink

Enjoy.
