I'm mid 50 and live in Colorado.
Just recently got back into modeling, seems like I picked the right time.
Way different now. It may sound weird but one of the reasons I got back into it was due to a 1/ 35 scale leaf punch and sea foam.
No more Dr Suess looking trees.
That always nagged me and brought me out of modeling was the trees. Spend all that time building a killer model only to be reduced to foam or moss as foilage. ( or dried leaves or herbs ) Ugghh
Now I spend nights watching Tv punching out scale leaves from actual leaves. Trees are looking like trees now.
Anyway I build 1/ 35 scale WW2 ( and some WWI + sub ) models and figures in dioramas settings.
My dioramas are story boards in the midst of the war. They all tell a story . Good , bad or indifferent.
I wish I could figure out how to upload pictures. It says it needs a source.
My snapshots range anywhere from 3 dead frozen soldiers sitting around a campfire that had gone out long ago to the crew of a 2cm Flakweirling sitting around drinking while trading with a couple of paratroopers with a loot laden cow.
My current project is a Stewart that unexpectedly ran into a Tiger sitting inside an old cafe. But all may not be lost as some of the Tiger crew is caught unaware and outside the tank.
My next one is a Elefant with the crew playing soccer while repairs are being done by the crew of a Steyr .
Yeah I just can't build the model...it needs a story.
A tank on the shelf looks good, a tank that just turned a human into a tube of toothpaste is something else.
Need to figure out how to upload pics.
