Hello!!
Posted by Jamese30 on Friday, January 18, 2019 1:30 AM

Hi All,

Thought I would introduce myself – I’ve come back into model making in the past year really after about a 20 year break (off and on).  My son inspired me when we visited an RAF Cosford in his half term and they had a model plane building activity with some basic Airfix kits, which we both loved having a go at.  Whilst building car kits is probably my biggest passion I am getting a lot of enjoyment building plane kits, which my son also likes to do with me.  I have been on ScaleAuto forum for many years but with my broadening interest I thought I would join this forum as well.  The recent “D-Day Overlord” photo submission has only inspired me further.

Look forward to learning more from you all and look forward to speaking to you.

All the best,

James

Hi James welcome to the forum, I've only recently started posting despite the length of my membership. I have always enjoyed popping in to catch up and have learnt a great deal in that time as I'm sure you will.

Hi,James and welcome to the FSM forums.

You'll meet a lot of great and knowledgeable people here. I'm like you, just getting back in to the hobby. I joined my local club and then joined a group build here on the FSM forums and it's made a world of difference. My modeling still stinks but I'm having fun and learning something new everyday.

Don't forget to get involved and post pictures. We all like pictures.

Welcome to the Forums James! Glad to have you aboard.

I'm just the opposite of a lot of these guys. I've been building for 72 of my 78 years and have loved every minute of it, well, there was that time back in ..........................Wink. I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time and if my wallet says OK. My favorites are WWI & WWII planes folowed by sailing ships as you can see from my avatar.

You've come to the right place. If you need help, just ask. Sometmes it takes a little time for us to get back to you as there are work and time schedules that always seem to get in the way, but you'll get help. So sit back and enjoy.

Thank for all the kind words.  I will be sure to add some images as I build.  I have managed to post the images in D Day Mission Overlord Competition (my first ever entry to a modelling competiton) of my P51-D Mustang build so hope you enjoy it.

All the best,

James
