Canadian Navy Reservist and sorry, but I'm not a diver! Would love to get my training but don't have an urge to dive.

First off, Welcome.

Secondly, Reservist huh? Who's Navy and what rating?

"Why do I do this? Because the money's good, the scenery changes and they let me use explosives, okay?"

Welcome aboard.

I checked out various reviews some years ago on 350 Bismarck kits and opted for the Revell kit. That seemed to come out with the best reviews.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Welcome Sign

I've built the Tamiya, good basic kit and still looks good built up, not a bad kit for a start. I have the Revell and will start on that next year. Never tried the Academy kit but built the Academy Indianaplois which wasn't bad.

I believe the Trunpy kit is 1/200

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard.

Favorites are WWII planes followed by sailing ships as you can see from my avatar.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's what we're here for.

Enjoy.

Hello ! TechySailor!

Welcome to the Forums. I would recommend for that ship, the Trumpeter kit, and then the Tamiya kit. Both have their faults, But I found the Trumpeter perfect for my needs. Tanker - Builder

P.S Building in Bottles huh ? Who empties them? No, really, there is a fascination with these that goes back, way back, in history. There are books that can help. I don't know which Libraries would have them, because it's such a ethereal part of ship-modeling .

Welcome!  Post a few pics of your builds.  I am not a ship modeler (yet) but you will find plenty here.

Thanks,

John

Good Day,

I am a modeller who builds all sorts of models. I have been doing so, since I was a young lad with my father. My prized possession (so far in regards to models), is a German U-Boat (can't remember the scale, but it's one of those consignment buys that luckily had all the pieces). She is a large scale though! I like to build planes, trains and ships.. currently I am working to get better at the ship - in - bottle model type, but will take some time. I love building battleships the most (being a Naval Reservist of course). Will be building HMCS Huron and HMCS Snowberry very soon! I do want to build a Bismarck in 1:350 and am looking for recommendations on which brand to build. I found one in Revell, Academy and Tamiya.

All the best,

TechySailor
