Hello from Miami!
Posted by Niko on Sunday, December 29, 2019 5:02 PM

Hello Everyone,

I am a teenager and high school senior who wants to dive deeper into scale models. My father introduced me to the hobby when I was very young. I dabbled with it but ultimately turned to video games. Through school I realized that I really enjoyed history and I got back into scale modelling. I like building all kinds of models but as of now I gravitate to 1/35 armour. I have built about 7 models by now but I want to do better. I have learned a lot though YouTube videos but I wanted to join this forum to finally interact with some people in the field and get some knowledge. I want to get involved in the community both locally and online.

I have some of my builds on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ngnphotos/

Thank you,

Niko

Hi Niko! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you with us.

Checked out your builds. Very nice work. You're off to a great start. The camo and weathering on the armor is a lot better than mine. If you have any problems or questions, don't be afraid to ask. The members here are very knowledgeable and ready to help out (even though it looks like you could help guys like me).

Enjoy!

I looked through a little bit of your instagram until it wanted me to join before I could see more. Not happening. What I saw looked good.

Thank you all!

I'm going to make an account on Flickr or some other service to upload my builds insteaed of Instagram. Its an annoying platform to use.

Welcome aboard, this is the right place to be with a bunch of talented modelers. I grew up in Miami back in the 1960s till we moved about 13 years ago.

Welcome to the forum, Niko!  I really like your Fokker Dr I.  That's one that many of us have built when we were your age, too-though it was a long time ago for most of us, too.  I look forward to seeing more of your builds here.

I also encourage you to seek out any clubs that might be in your area, and visit them.  It's good to connect with everyone online, but it's also good to meet other modelers in person, and share the hobby.

Best regards,

Brad
