My name is Pete McFadyen and I have owned a hobby shop (SpareTime Hobbies) in Winnipeg for the last 8 years, the last 2 of which have been strictly on-line. My personal interests in plastic modeling are 1/48 aircraft, 1/12 F1, 1/24 trucks and of course drawing and printing custom decals.
One of the reasons I began building models in my adult life was because I had just joined the Canadian military and was completely impressed by the equipment I saw (my very first aircraft flight
EVER was in a Herc on my way to basic training!). The other was that I was trying to quit smoking, so I thought what better to occupy my hands? It worked, by the way, after 17 years of trying!
I have not been very prolific as far as completing models go (though I start many!) and I don't have many completed kits to show for the last 22+ years, mainly due to the 15 years in the CF and 11+ moves I've encountered since starting to build (got a lot of spares!). I do have a large & growing personal collection of models that I vow to build, (apart from the inventory at SpareTime Hobbies) all contingent, of course , on completing construction of my 'hobby room'. LOL!
Well, enough of my 'excuse-fest'! Let me finish by saying that if there is anything you think I can help with, please let me know, as I'm sure I will learn an even greater amount from all the knowledgeable forum members here.
